Salesforce for Google Apps - Launch Demo

Eons ago (mid-April), the same team that brought you Salesforce for Google AdWords launched Salesforce integration with other business apps in the Google Apps suite: GMail, Google Documents, Google Talk, and Google Calendar.

The good folks at ZDNet published the launch and demo, in case you couldn’t make it.

I’ll be going into more detail later about how to set up each aspect of these apps.

Salesforce.com Summer08 Release Notes - Review

Thanks again go to gokubi for reviewing the Summer ‘08 Release Notes and providing some quick commentary. When I saw the blurb about Multiday Events for the calendar, I raised an eyebrow. I’m curious to see how this works with syncing to their Connect to Microsoft Outlook (and/or Google Calendar) product.

Email Template for Salesforce.com/Google Integration

Thanks go to Steve Andersen who works for ONE/Northwest and runs the gokubi.com website, for contributing a helpful email template for clients (and that can be modified for in-house users). This tells people about Salesforce.com’s Salesforce for Google Apps functionality, which was officially announced today.

What is Salesforce for Google Apps? Read the template for a great breakdown of the possibilities for your business:

Hi {!Contact.FirstName},

Salesforce has a Google Apps integration that is available at no charge: http://www.salesforce.com/products/google/apps/

Since you are currently using Google Apps I would suggest taking a look at what’s involved.

Salesforce.com For Dummies - 3rd Edition

I’m preparing to update the latest edition of Salesforce.com For Dummies. It’s been a while since the last one, and the product(s) have gained a lot more muscle. The book will still be targeted to the new, non-technical user to Salesforce, which means I must continue to focus on the most fundamental parts of the products.  It’s been great to see the product suite continue to evolve in sophistication - that just makes my job harder because there are so many productivity-enhancing features to write about! But I’d love to get feedback from any new Salesforce users that stumble here. What is your biggest challenge with learning the products? What in the book has been the most helpful to you? What do you wish was covered? (When you answer, please help out the discussion by noting what Salesforce version you’re using, your experience with the application, and how your company is using it.)
